Why did God change His mind with Abraham?

Is God unchangeable? God pronounced judgement on Sodom and Georama and they were to be destroyed. Abraham, perhaps out of concern for Lot and his family, bargained with God to spare those cities. You can read the historic Bible account in Genesis 18:20-33.
So the question is, after pouncing judgement, why did God agree with Abraham not destroy Sodom and Georama if 10 righteous people were found? Wouldn’t this be a clear example of God changing His mind?
I’ll leave a little time for discussion before giving my answer.
