Naturalism is process by which history is determined by the way we see every day processes happening today. This is the view that Secularists take on geology. Slow and gradual is the way we see things happening so that must be the way things happened eons ago.
Since they don’t accept anything they cannot currently see, nor will they accept anything from the Bible, a World Wide catastrophic flood is not allowed into the formula or even their thought processes, they are not able to make reasonable deductions for the rock strata, fossils and current geology that occur on earth.
